Romania is a frustrating place to land, there are no Street Signs or the like. You can figure out you've landed in Romania if you see their flag (Three stripes of Blue, Yellow, Red). A lot of their town signs have these colors on them as well. Staying on paved roads is probably your best bet for finding civilization.
Bucharest or "Bucuresti" contains an airport. Once in Bucharest, following the streetcars/railway system will keep you on main roads.
Expect to see horses and carriges, trashpiles, advertisements for Madonna if you make it into Bucharest
